Viewfinder: Thursday's Open Mic Night At Hyattsville's Busboys and Poets

Each Thursday poets, musicians and spoken word artists gather at Busboys and Poets to flaunt their skills.

On July 21, a couple hundred people attended Busboys and Poets' first open mic night at their new Hyattsville location on Baltimore Avenue.

Performers came from all over the Washington, D,C,/Baltimore area, and one from Gainesville, FL.

The level of talent was as close to professional as one could get. Not something you would associate with an open mic.

Be sure to come out tonight when Eric "E-Baby" Smith hosts the second open mic poetry night.

According to the Busboys and Poets event calendar open mic night is free and open to all, but wristbands are required and may be picked up beginning at 10 a.m. at the Hyattsville store bar. Limit four per person.
