New Indian Eatery Opens Today in Hyattsville

After months of prep, transatlantic restaurant chain lands in Hyattsville.

The EYA arts district commercial hub on Jefferson Street will add another open business to its list of tenants today with the opening of Spice 6, a newly transatlantic chain of Indian restaurants. The restaurant will take its first customers beginning at 11 a.m. today.

The restaurant has been slowly gearing up for operations in Hyattsville. Last week they launched their Facebook page, and their website is up and even boasts an online ordering feature.

The Hyattsville location is the first Spice 6 restaurant in the United States. Back in London, the other Spice 6 restaurant sports a slick decor and is clearly billed as a "fine dining experience". Here in Hyattsville, the concept has morphed into a  sleek fast food experience, similar to what one might expect at the

Like Chipotle, customers will choose from a set of options to craft their meal, beginning with a base of either rice, naan, or kabob, then adding either chicken, lamb, veggies or tofu, and finally topping it off with a curry or chutney sauce.

Depending on what you get, a single dish could cost between $7 and $10, not including sides like chaat or drinks.

Just got back from lunch at Spice 6 and it was very good. The flavors were authentic and very rich; didn't taste like canned or pre-prepared. They have an actual tandoor and make the naan fresh. Talked to several of the staff and everyone was very nice.

Thanks for the correction, it has been fixed. You're a regular dictionary, aren't you?

Loved Spice-6! It's not at all related to the London Spice-6, fyi.
