Urban Eats Cafe Fetes First Year in Business

Cafe celebrates with a packed slate of events through the rest of the week. Details inside.

Urban Eats Cafe in downtown Mount Rainier celebrates their one year anniversary today with expanded summer daytime hours. 

The cafe will now be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, until August 5 when they revert back to fall hours. The restaurant is also open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. from Monday through Wednesday. Brunch is also served on Saturdays from 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Urban Eats is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. 

The restaurant is known for its live entertainment offerings, and this weekend's one year anniversary celebration is no different. Tonight at 8 p.m. the restaurant hosts the Red Alert Spoken Hop Open Mic. Tomorrow brings a "folk fusion" open mic. And on Friday, the band Survival Stew with Revalyn Gold and the Gold Standards will serenade evening patrons.

The entertainment is free, but customers are encouraged to donate to the performers.

Urban Eats Arts and Music Cafe is located on the first floor of 3311 Rhode Island Avenue in Mount Rainier.
