City Hosts Holiday Events This Weekend

Tree lighting, Santa visit mark Friday and Saturday.

Hyattsville area residents can get into the holiday spirit with a special holiday tree lighting ceremony at Magruder Park tonight.

The event begins at 7 p.m., and is free and open to the public. There will be carolers, hot chocolate and a special visit from Santa himself. The tree lighting will take place at the garden circle near the front entrance to the park.

On Saturday, Santa will be sticking around to have breakfast and lunch with city residents. Santa will be the guest of honor at a continental breakfast beginning at 9 a.m. and a luncheon at noon. Costs to dine with Santa is just $5 per person. Kids under the age of two eat free. Photos with Santa can be had for a $3 sitting fee. The event takes place at the Hyattsville Municipal Building at 4310 Gallatin Street.
