So now that it's getting darker earlier, it feels like there's less time to get things done. But it's really important to get outside and get fresh air this time of year, when what I like to call the "four wall blues" – from being stuck inside – tends to kick in.

NFL Fit for You 5KWalk/Run
The Washington Redskins are sponsoring this event, which starts at 8:30 a.m. at National Harbor, 137 National Harbor Plaza. Registration is $5.

Proceeds from this non-competitive run/walk will benefit the NFL PLAY 60 Challenge, a joint program with the American Heart Association. Meet women of the Washington Redskins as well as Redskins alumni, cheerleaders and Sportacus from Lazytown kids show. Support a great cause and get the chance to win tickets to Super Bowl XLV. The race will begin shortly after registration ends around 10 a.m., followed by closing ceremonies at 11:30 a.m. Register online or the day of the race.
Green Craft Fair
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Watkins Park, 301 Watkins Park Dr., Upper Marlboro, there will be an artist's market featuring Earth friendly items. All artists will be selling items made from reused, recycled, responsibly harvested/natural or sustainable products.

Christmas Craft Show
Behnke Nurseries is having a craft show to benefit autism research. The open house will feature Beltsville's Local Autism Program as well as local crafters and Behnke's Christmas displays.
The fee for each space for venders at the event is $10, a toy to donate to Toys for Tots, and a donation of one of each crafter's wares that will be raffled to benefit Beltsville's Local Autism Program.

Nightlife on Ice
Skate the night away from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Herbert Wells Ice Rink, 5211 Paint Branch Pkwy, College Park. Skate in the dark with laser and retro lights. Select nights will feature DJ Clint, playing all the latest hits.

Sunday
Capital Running Company Veterans Day 10K/Tidal Basin Walk
Honor America's veterans with a run through West & East Potomac parks along the Potomac River. T-shirts, refreshments and prizes will be available.
The event starts at 8 a.m. at 900 Ohio Drive S.W., Washington, D.C. For more information click here. Registration is $30.
St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 4512 College Ave, College Park, will host its annual from 3 to 5 p.m.
Experience a traditional German celebration making beautiful paper lanterns, and then take an outdoor walk with lanterns and singing at twilight. Make the St. Martin's Day Lantern Festival an annual tradition.
