Grab & Go Kids Planner: Feb. 23 through March 2

Pick up some free kids' clothing this week, register for a summer camp or celebrate Black History Month before it ends.

It's Wednesday, and that means it's time to check out our Grab & Go Kids Planner to see what Hyattsville has to offer kids and families this week. As always, we'd love to hear from you if there are any local, family-friendly events that we missed. Let us know, and we'll be sure to keep an eye out for them in the future.

The weather may have fooled us all last week, but there's plenty to do indoors to stay warm and enjoy some quality time together. Here are some things for the family to do in and around Hyattsville while we wait for spring to arrive:

CHEETAH GIRLS CLUB
Where/When: Mount Rainier Nature/Recreation Center in Mount Rainier on Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Who Go: All-girls nature club for ages 10 to 17. Learn about etiquette, self-esteem and cooking, too.
Price: $20

Where/When: in Hyattsville on Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Why Go: You won't have to spend a dime for a like-new coat or pair of shoes.
Price: Free food and shopping

CHESAPEAKE FAMILY MAGAZINE SUMMER CAMP FAIR
Where/When: Annapolis Area Christian School in Annapolis on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Why Go: A wide range of summer camp options that include University of Maryland camps, Bowie Baysox baseball camp, kids spy camp in Washington and many more.
Price: Free admission and free parking

CHILDREN'S ARTS WORKSHOP
Where/When: Old Parish House in College Park on Sunday, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: Fun art activity for children ages 3 to 8
Price: Free


Where/When: on Sunday at noon
Why Go: Learn about black history through food, the recipes of Riversdale's enslaved Plummer family.
Price: Free demonstration; fee for house tours
