Photos Show Damage Wrought by Metro Wreck
Photos taken at the scene of Friday's Green Line derailment in Hyattsville show extent of damage dealt to rail line.
A third rail twisted and laying on the ground, dozens of third rail moorings sheered off just above the ground, and third rail insulators cracked and strewn across the track bed, all attest to the destructive forces dealt by a "heat kink" and resulting derailment on Metro's Green Line.
