Power Outages Follow the High Winds
People experiencing outages should call 1-877-PEPCO-62
As winds pick across the region, so are power outages.
The area is under a high wind warning until 7 p.m. Friday, and the National Weather Service predicts wind gusts around 60 mph.
According to Pepco's StormCenter outage map, 34,723 customers across the region were without power, 3,694 of them are in Prince George's County.

Pepco spokesman Bob Hainey said they called in extra crews Thursday to help deal with the outages.
However, he said crews must wait for the winds to calm down before some can get to work.

“The guys can't go up in those buckets once the winds hit about 40 mph. Where they can, they will go up." said Hainey. "We're doing what we can and we're working where we can, where it's safe," he said.
