Thousands Donated for Funeral of Laurel Woman Killed in Crash 

More than a hundred donors this week rallied around the family of 18-year-old Crystal Benton, the Laurel woman who was killed in a Nov. 18 car crash in Glen Burnie. Friends, family, and acquaintances raised over $5,000 to cover Benton's funeral expenses in less than a day. Contributions are still being accepted.

Man Fatally Shot in South Laurel Apartment

Authorities are investigating an apparent homicide that took place late Tuesday in an apartment in Laurel. Officers who responded to the residence in 11600 block of South Laurel Drive found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

Arcade Paused While Uses Pondered

With roughly $1.6 million in work already done, final design work on Hyattsville's redevelopment of the Arcade Building on Gallatin Street has been put on pause while the City Council tries to figure out what exactly they want to do with the building. 

Bowie Police Arrest Two on Theft Charges

Two men from Capitol Heights are charged with stealing packages from porches in Bowie.
