Track Work to Shutter Green Line Stations

Work to replace switches will shutter four Green Line stations in northern Prince George's County this weekend.

Track work will shutter four metro stations on the northern end of the Green Line this weekend. The stations to be closed are West Hyattsville, Prince George's Plaza, College Park and Greenbelt.

Transit travelers will be able to take buses between Greenbelt and Fort Totten. Metro warns that riders should add up to 50 minutes to their travel times as a result.

They also recommend that those who normally use the Greenbelt station to park should instead use the Orange Line New Carrollton Station.

The work will begin at around 10 p.m. May 4, and will continue through Sunday, May 6. Workers will be replacing track switches along the right-of-way, as recommended by the National Transportation Safety Board.
