Donation Drive for Animal Victims of Superstorm Sandy

5501 Baltimore Ave Hyattsville MD 20781  See map

This Sunday, November 11th, in conjunction with the Prince George's County Animal Management Group's dog adoption event at the Big Bad Woof (2-4 pm) and the Conversations in the Corridor screening of Madonna of the Mills at Busboys and Poets (free, 5-7 pm), we are collecting (tax-deductible) donations for the animals impacted by the storm.

There is an urgent need for animal supplies for the numerous animals displaced by Sandy. Our plan is to drive a truck full of food and supplies to Main Line Animal Rescue (MLAR) in Philadelphia on Monday. Then, volunteers from MLAR will transport the supplies to Staten Island for distribution.

We are asking people to give brand name cat/kitten, dog/puppy, rabbit food and/or cat litter. Donations will be collected at the Big Bad Woof located just across Jefferson St from Busboys and Poets, Sunday 2-6 pm. (The Big Bad Woof is graciously offering a 10% discount for donated items and will match that with an additional 10% for items purchased to donate after the screening of Madonna of the Mills.)

Kindly help spread the word - forward this e-mail, post on your Facebook page and community discussion groups, Tweet -- whatever you can do is appreciated!! We'd love to have a truck filled with food and supplies to give to the animals in need!!

Thank you!!!

If you can't make it on Sunday but would like to help the animals of storm-torn Staten Island, donate here:   http://www.mainlinerescue.com.

will old news stories be brought over to the new site?
Michael Theis (Editor) June 18, 2013 at 04:04 pm
Yeah. It seems as if some old stories, particularly ones recently posted, did not migrate over toRead More the new site, yet. Our help desk is working on this problem, and we hope to have a resolution before long.
