World on a String public concert and music workshop, youth scholarships available

World on a String is a public evening concert AND an exciting day of workshops and concerts for all musicians 7-adult, beginner to advanced, with many options for non-string as well as string players. A stellar faculty includes human beat-box Christylez Bacon and renowned harmonica master Phil Wiggins, as well as string players from Chinese, North Indian, Mediterranean, and many other traditions. Workshops range from Vocal Worlds to Layers of Rhythm to Makam, Mode, and Raga. You can see all the details and register online at www.freydashands.org/woas/  (You can also buy concert tickets on the WoaS payment page.)

For only $65, the early bird rate for students 7-23 ($80 for adults), attendees get all of the activities plus snacks AND dinner AND a wonderful concert at night. What a bargain!  Full youth scholarships are also available: write to mail@freydashands.org with a brief description of yourself and why you’d like to attend, and a teacher recommendation.
