Community Corner

"Are You For The Child?" Discover how to be an advocate for abused/neglected children.

Looking for an opportunity to help abused or abandoned children in your community? CASA/Prince George’s County is hosting an information session on their volunteer program on January 5, 2012 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the City of Hyattsville Municipal Building located at 4310 Gallatin St.. Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)/Prince George’s County recruits and trains volunteers to advocate for the needs of children living in foster care. Volunteers spend about 10 hours per month visiting with a child and collaborating with other adults protecting the child to ensure his or her needs are met and a safe permanent home is found. If you have ever considered becoming a child advocate, this information session is for you! For more information, please visit our website at www.pgcasa.org or call 301-209-0491.
