End of Editor's Time in Hyattsville

Goodbye, friends, sources, neighbors, colleagues!

Is there a non-cheesy way to write a goodbye message on Patch? My colleagues who have moved on have finessed it perfectly. But me? C'mon now Hyattsville. You know me.

So I'll just say thanks! Toby and I will miss you immensely. We have grown to love this inside-the-Beltway jewel as our home for the past 5-plus years and, between you and me, Toby really isn't too good at goodbyes. (It's a good thing tears can't stain e-letters!)

On Sunday, we're moving home to Niagara Falls, NY to be with our family. If you ever come through the world's "Honeymoon Capital," it would be our honor to tour your around. I will begin work on a master's degree and plan to attend music school in Florida in the fall.

Toby will be eating treats and getting spoiled by his cousins, Aunt Amy, grandfather and friends.

For the next week, will be at the helm, navigating you through all the news that's fit to publish on Hyattsville Patch. I'm so thankful to be leaving you in his capable hands until your new full-time editor takes over.

Upon AJ's departure, , currently the Fredericksburg Patch editor and a Hyattsville native, will be your new local editor. Hyattsville will be so lucky to have him and I know he will report circles around me.

Toby and I thought we'd leave you with a little video including some of our memories as your reporter and editor. Please stay in touch.
