Thirteen people face long-term displacement after a Sunday morning fire tore through their duplex, a spokesperson for Prince George's County Fire/EMS told Patch.
Firefighters responded to the 2500 block of Van Buren Street around 10:38 a.m. Nov. 25 and found heavy fire showing, said Mark Brady, chief spokesperson for the department. All occupants were out of the homes before units responded, he said. No one was injured.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but both homes were significantly damaged, according to Brady. The amount of fire loss is also under investigation.
There were two people living in one home and 11 people living in another part of the duplex, Brady said.
