Bladensburg Pedestrian Killed in Accident

Speed and alcohol were not a factor, police said.

A Bladensburg woman was killed in a pedestrian collision Nov. 12 in the 3800 block of Kenilworth Ave., according to Prince George's County Police.

Around 7:30 p.m. police found 46 year-old Mary Katherine Harding suffering from life threatening injuries. She was rushed to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead, police said.

Harding attempted to cross Kenilworth Avenue when she was struck by two vehicles, a gold Chrysler 300M and a white Nissan Altima. She was not in a crosswalk and both drivers remained on the scene, police said.

Alcohol and speed were not a factor on the part of the drivers, according to police.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at (301) 731-4422.

What in the world is a "padestrian collection?" Proofreader, please? Anyhow; sorry that this woman was killed; especially now that days are shorter and it's dark longer, ALL of us need to be especially careful when out and about. And sad to say, doesn't seem to matter if pedestrians are in crosswalks or not; I'm a full-time pedestrian and every single time I'm in a crosswalk, WITH the walk signal, WITH the light, at least one fool will drive right through the light, almost running me over. Let's be careful out there.
