County Crime Watch: Violent Weekend Results in 4 Murders Including 83 Year-Old Grandmom

Highlights of police reports for Prince George's County. The following information was supplied by the Prince George's County Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

This past weekend in Prince George's County resulted in four murders and one incident, which has been classified as a justifiable homicide, said Prince George's Police Department (PGPD) Chief Mark Magaw in a news conference on Tuesday. Investigators have concluded that none of the incidents involved random victims and none of the incidents are connected, Magaw added.

The following is a timeline of murders, homicide and the non-fatal shootings that occurred over the weekend of March 30 - April 1. A police video where Magaw and PGPD Assistant Chief Kevin Davis address these incidents is attached.

Capitol Heights Teenager Killed During Gun Battle

Time: Friday, March 30 at 9:46 p.m.
Location: 1600 block of Brightseat Road in Landover, MD
Summary: Brandon Lee Wiggins, 17, of Capitol Heights was killed during a gun battle with another armed gunman in an apartment complex parking lot, according to Davis. He said this is potentially a drug related robbery or dispute of some sort. The other armed gunman sustained non-life threatening gunshot wounds during this shootout, according to Davis. Police indicate that the shooter has been identified and that they anticipate closing this investigation shortly.

Triple Shooting in Non-Incorporated Hyattsville

Time: Friday at 10:11 p.m.
Location: 6700 block of Northwest Drive in Non-Incorporated Hyattsville
Summary: A triple shooting occurred in an apartment complex community, according to according to Davis. All injuries were non-life threatening, Davis reported. The dispute stemmed from an argument inside the apartment earlier in the evening — and the suspect and victims were all known to each other, Davis said. The shooter has been identified and the department anticipates an arrest this week, Davis reported.

Police Say Gang Affiliated Teen Shot and Killed in Lewisdale

Time: Saturday, March 31 at 1:21 a.m.
Location: 2000 block of Woodberry Street in Lewisdale
Summary: Lester Flores Quintanilla, 19, from Alexandria, VA, was shot and killed during a possible robbery attempt while walking with two other males in a residential community, according to Davis. Suspects are described only as two males armed with handguns. Davis said Quintanilla was affiliated with the gang MS-13. This investigation remains active.

Police Say Suitland Woman Shot and Killed in Domestic Dispute

Time: Saturday, March 31 at 7:18 p.m.
Location: 3500 block of Terrace Drive in Suitland
Summary: Ashley McClurkin, 25, of Suitland, was shot and killed inside her apartment. Police arrested and charged Audrea Blackwell, 24, of the 700 block of Fairlawn Street, Temple Hills. The shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute between McClurkin an Blackwell, Davis said. Blackwell was charged with first degree murder and has been remanded to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections on a no bond status, according to police.

Police Report Accokeek Woman Killed Her 83-Year Old Grandmother

Time: Sunday, April 1 at 4:25 a.m.
Location: 4100 block of Danville Road in Accokeek
Summary: Dorothy Ogden, 83, was shot and killed in her single-family residence. Police have arrested and charged Ogden's granddaughter, Cristalina Warner, 32 , of the 4100 block of Danville Road, Davis said. They lived in the home together. The shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute, according to Davis. Cristalina Warner was arrested on Sunday on a no bond basis, according to police. A mug shot of Cristalina Warner is attached.

Police Investigating If Forestville Man Shot Robber in Self-Defense

Time: Sunday, April 1 at 8:19 a.m.
Location: 2700 block of Judith Avenue in District Heights
Summary: David Shaw, 21, of Forestville, produced a handgun and announced a robbery at a residential home occupied by six other persons, according to Davis. Shaw and the victims all knew each other, Davis said. Shaw then shot one of the robbery victims in the leg inside the home, prompting another male robbery victim to jump him in an effort to wrestle the gun away, according to police. The gun was eventually taken from Shaw during the struggle. And the now armed robbery victim then shot and killed Shaw, Davis said. Homicide detectives and the State’s Attorney’s Office will review the circumstances to determine if the shooting was a justified act of self-defense.

Police Investigating Shooting and Possible Armed Robbery

Time: Sunday at 11:31 a.m.
Location: 2500 block of Afton Street in Hillcrest Heights
Summary: Police believe a citizen was shot during a possible armed robbery, according to Davis. The victim received non-life threatening injuries and was treated in a local hospital. Police put out an arrest warrant charging Khayn Leroy Hudson with attempted first-degree murder—he was arrested on April 3, according to police.
