Police: Domestic-Related Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Injured

The Prince George's County Police Department is "investigating the case as a domestic-related incident," Cpl. Larry Johnson said.

A "domestic-related" shooting left one woman dead and another injured in Prince George's County early Sunday morning, according to Prince George's County Police Department Cpl. Larry Johnson.

Police officers found two women with gunshot wounds in the 9000 block of Central Avenue in Hyattsville. One woman was pronounced dead on the scene, and the other was transported to a local hospital, Johnson said.

Police originally responded to the sound of gunshots shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday morning in the 4600 block of Heath Street in Capitol Heights. The women drove from the Heath Street location to the 9000 block of Central Avenue in Hyattsville, Johnson said.

The Prince George's County Police Department is "investigating the case as a domestic-related incident and we anticipate a quick closure," Johnson added.

The names of the women have not been released by the police.
