Fugitive Fridays: PGPD Seek Chillum Man Accidentally Released From Jail

Prince George's County Police seeking help locating a while awaiting trial.

• In Connection With: The March 4 outside the Surf Club in Edmonston.

• Description: Frederick L. Scott is a black male, 5’7” tall, about 155 pounds. 

• Details: About 1:04 a.m., officers responded to the 4700 block of Kenilworth Avenue for a report of a shooting and found Phillip Watson, 30, of the 4300 block of Varnum Place, S.E., Washington, D.C., suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Through the course of their investigation, detectives identified Scott, 24, of the 1900 block of Oliver Street in Chillum, as a suspect in this case, and obtained a first-degree murder warrant for him. 

Police arrested him on May 5 in Las Vegas and he was extradited to Prince George’s County. Initially, Scott was remanded to county jail on a no bond status. 

Due to what appears to be a clerical error, Scott was later given a $75,000 bond and released from jail after the bond was posted. Upon realizing its error, the court issued a bench warrant for Scott on Nov. 18.
