Hyattsville Police are on the lookout for a group of suspects involved with a violent armed robbery which took place last week near the Kirkwood Apartments in West Hyattsville.
Police say that at about 9:45 p.m., a man was approached by two Hispanic men as he sat in his car on the 2600 block of Kirkwood Place. One of the suspects, wearing a gray sweater, black ski mask and bearing what police think might be a 9mm handgun, approached the drivers side door of the victim's car, placed the gun against the victim's head and demanded money. A second suspect also approached the car bearing a machete.
The gun-toting suspect then punched the victim in the head before making off with cash, jewlery and a cell phone.
The victim watched as his assailants fled the scene in a car occupied by two other Hispanic men, according to police.
Sgt. Chris Purvis, public information officer for the Hyattsville City Police Department said that police responded immediately to the scene and conducted a canvas of the area but were unable to locate the suspects. Surrounding police jurisdictions were also alerted to the incident.

They demanded cash from the victim, struck him and fled with cash, jewelry and a cell phone.
