Hyattsville Police Seek Suspect in Lancer Drive Sexual Assault

Police are looking for the suspect, who escaped from an apartment near Lancer Drive.

On May 5, about 3 a.m. at the 3300 block of Lancer Drive, a suspect broke into an apartment through a bedroom window and sexually assaulted a female who was asleep in her bedroom. The suspect fled the scene through the front door at which time the victim called the police.

Officers were in the area at the time the call was received and saw a man with no shirt walking away from the area where the crime was reported. As officers attempted to stop the suspect he fled into another apartment building and escaped.

Investigators are looking for a black male, 5'6", 200 pounds wearing blue jeans and a dark colored work jacket. The suspect allegedly was wearing black shoes with a white stripe around the bottem of them and a full-face, think mask with cut outs around the eyes.
