But police don't have much to go on beyond that, according to Purvis. That's because the victim did not report the crime until several hours later at 4:40 a.m. By then, the suspects had disappeared without a trace. Police only have a vague description of the suspects to go off of.
Purvis urged residents to report all crimes to the city police as soon as possible.

The second robbery happened at about 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 25 on the steps leading from the Prince George's Plaza Metro Station to Oliver Street. According to Purvis, the victim was walking from the metro station, cell phone in hand, when he encountered two men on the stairs. One of the men slapped the victim's cell phone to ground and grabbed it before the two suspects fled on foot. The victim was not hurt in the altercation
Hyattsville police have reached out to Metro Transit Police for assistance investigation the case and are reviewing closed circuit television camera recordings in the area to see if they can spot suspects.
