Hyattsville Police Step Up Theater Patrols

City police directed to conduct more patrols of area around Hyattsville theater after deadly rampage in Aurora.

In the wake of a horrific mass-shooting at a premier screening in Aurora, CO of The Dark Knight Rises which left 12 people dead and 71 people suffering from gunshot wounds last night, Hyattsville police say they will be stepping up patrols around the Regal Royale  theater in Hyattsville.

According to Chris Purvis, public information officer for the Hyattsville City Police Department, an email sent to city police officers earlier today contained instructions for all shifts to conduct directed patrols in and around the movie theater and to be on the lookout for people acting suspiciously.
