PGPD Officers Suspended For Inappropriate Video

Police chief to address reporters over suspensions during Friday night press conference.

The Prince George's County Police Department has suspended two police officers for "creating a video that is inconsistent with the values" of the community, according to a press release issued by the department late in the day on Friday.

In just an hour— at 6:30 p.m.—Prince George's County Police Chief Mark Magaw will be addressing reporters about the suspension of the two officers during a press conference at police headquarters in Palmer Park.

What exactly a "video inconsistent with the values of our community" means was not addressed in the press release. Prince George's County Police Department Media Relations Division spokesperson Cpl. Larry Johnson declined to comment further on the matter, saying that questions would be answered at the scheduled Friday night press conference.

According to the press release Magaw suspended the officers on the grounds of engaging in "unbecoming conduct".

Magaw will be joined in the press conference by Assistant Police Chief Kevin Davis, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 89 President Vince Canales, Deputy Chief Amal Awad, and Maj. Cesar Pacheco, Commander of Internal Affairs.

OK, so who complained, one of the politically correct crowd? If you're in a job such as police officer, other emergency responders, military in battleground conditions, etc., many times you'll engage in pranks, etc., that may not be in the best of taste, but that help to relieve the stress, to offset the horrors, that you see on the job. These people are out there laying their lives on the line for us every day, so cut 'em some slack. Sad to see that this country has lost its sense of humor.
