Police Blotter: Hyattsville, May 1-7

Here are the crimes reported to the Hyattsville Police Department during the first week of May.

May 1

At the 6000 block of Queens Chapel Road, about 2:30 a.m., a suspect was arrested for possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

At the 2600 block of Kirkwood Place, about 6 a.m., an unknown suspect entered a victim’s apartment through an open window. The suspect assaulted the resident, demanded cash and fled through the front door with the victim’s purse.

At the 2700 block of Kirkwood Place, sometime between 12:30 and 9:30 p.m., someone entered an apartment in this area and removed property.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 3:45 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

May 2

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 7 p.m., two suspects were arrested for shoplifting from a store inside. In addition, one of the suspects was found to have an open warrant through Montgomery County.

 

May 3

At the 6500 block of Belcrest Road, sometime between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., someone broke into a vehicle parked in this area and removed property.

At the Mall at Prince George’s about 3:45 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

At the 3600 block of East West Highway, sometime between 7 p.m. and midnight, someone broke out the driver’s side window of a vehicle parked in this area. Although the interior was ransacked, it did not appear that anything had been taken.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 9:30 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from store inside.

 

May 4

At the 3600 block of Gallatin Street, sometime between 3:30 and 4 a.m., someone stole a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria taxicab that had been parked in this area. It was recovered in Washington, D.C. later that day.

 

May 5

At the 3300 block of Lancer Drive, about 3:30 a.m., an unknown suspect entered a victim’s apartment through her bedroom window. He sexually assaulted her and fled through the front door.

At the 6100 block of 41st Avenue, sometime between 4 and 8 a.m., someone broke into a vehicle parked in this area and removed property.

At the 6500 block of Belcrest Road, sometime between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., someone stole the rear tag from a vehicle parked in this area.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, sometime between 1 and 1:30 p.m., someone stole several bottles of perfume from a store at the mall.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 2:30 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 2:45 p.m., two suspects were arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 9:15 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 9:30 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from store inside.

 

May 6

At the 5700 block of 29th Avenue, about 1:15 a.m., a suspect was arrested for possession of marijuana.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 2:45 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 3 p.m., an employee of a home improvement store in this area was arrested for theft from same.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 4:15 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

 

May 7

At the 6100 block of 42nd Avenue, sometime during the night, someone stole the catalytic converter from a vehicle parked in this area.

At the 4100 block of Gallatin Street, sometime during the night, someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked in this area and removed property.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, sometime during the night, someone broke into a vehicle parked here and removed property.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 1:30 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 3:45 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.
