Robberies Reported Around West Hyattsville Metro

Some of the suspects are reported to be armed.

Hyattsville police are saying that several robberies have been reported near the West Hyattsville Metro station as the victims were walking along footpaths or walkways. In each case, the suspects have been described as two to three Hispanic males or a combination of black and Hispanic males, about 16-24 years old, 5'6”-5'10” tall, weighing 140-160 pounds.  They have been seen wearing black North Face type jackets and either blue jeans or dark pants. One suspect is armed with a black handgun and another with an unknown type of knife.

The Hyattsville City Police are working with Metro Transit Police, Prince George's County Police, and Maryland Park Police and to investigate these robberies. Polie are urging Metro riders to use caution when walking alone in the area of West Hyattsville Metro and to report any suspicious activity to 301-985-5050.
