Stabbing Results in Attempted Murder Charges

Weekend stabbing in Brentwood left man with punctured lung and stomach.

A Brentwood man is behind bars after police said he stabbed a man during an argument turned violent. 

The incident happened at around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 10 in the 3700 block of Jackson Avenue in Brentwood. That's when, according to Prince George's County Police, 28-year-old Brentwood resident Morrison Hai stabbed a man two times with a paring knife after Hai became angry at the victim for bothering Hai's girlfriend. Hai lives on Jackson Avenue. 

When police arrived they found the victim lying in a pool of his own blood. He suffered from two stab wounds, one of them described as a "sunken stab wound."

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition and rushed into surgery, where doctors worked to repair a punctured lung and stomach. 

Police said today that the victim is expected to survive.

Hai Morrison, who celebrates his 29th birthday tomorrow, has so far refused to cooperate with the police investigation, refusing to provide a verbal or written statement to police. 

Yesterday, Morrison was charged with attempted first and second degree murder, first and second degree assault and reckless endangerment.
