Attempted Bank Robbery in Hyattsville: Suspect Told Victims He Was Armed

Assaults, shoplifting and an attempted bank robbery made the most recently published Hyattsville Police crime report.

Nov. 13                                                                    

At the 3800 block of Nicholson Street: sometime since Nov. 5, someone broke into a vacant home and stole copper piping.

At the 3600 block of East West Highway, about 7:30 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting at a drug store.

At the 5700 block of Ager Road, sometime during the night, someone broke into a vehicle parked and removed property.

At the 3600 block of Gallatin Street, sometime between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., someone entered an apartment and stole property.

At the 5800 block of Queens Chapel Road, sometime between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., someone broke into a parked vehicle and stole property.

At the 6500 block of Adelphi Road: sometime between 3:30 and 5 p.m., someone stole a victim’s bicycle while he was inside the library.

At the 6500 block of Adelphi Road, sometime between 4:45 and 6:30 p.m., someone stole a victim’s bicycle while she was inside the library.

At the 3600 block of East West Highway, about 5:15 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting at a drug store.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 6:15 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting.

 

Nov. 15

At the 6500 block of Belcrest Road, about noon, it was found that the rear tag had been stolen from a parked vehicle.

 

Nov. 16

At the 2600 block of Nicholson Street, sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m., someone entered an apartment and stole property.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 4:15 p.m., an unknown suspect stole several items from a store.

At Northwestern High School, about 3:15 p.m., a suspect was arrested for threatening a victim with a knife.

 

Nov. 17

At 6500 block of Belcrest Road, sometime between 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 16 and 1:30 a.m. this date, someone stole a parked 1995 Nissan Maxima.

At the 5700 block of 39th Avenue, about 11:30 a.m., an unknown suspect entered a residence through a window. When confronted by the resident, the suspect fled.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 3:30 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting.

At the 5500 block of 38th Avenue, sometime between 8:30 and 11 p.m., someone stole a parked 2002 Dodge Ram pickup.

 

Nov. 18

At the 5600 block of 39th Avenue, sometime during the night, someone entered a vacant home in this area and stole copper piping.

At the 2900 block of Belcrest Center Drive, about 10:15 a.m., an unknown suspect robbed a bank in this area after telling employees he was armed with a gun.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 12:30 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting.

At the 5300 block of Queens Chapel Road, about 2:45 p.m., a victim was beaten and robbed by an unknown suspect that had approached him looking for a ride to Washington, D.C.

At the 3300 block of East West Highway, about 3 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting at a home improvement store.

 

Nov. 19

At the 4100 block of Oglethorpe Street, about 5 a.m., a suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct resulting from a dispute with a tow truck driver

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 2:45 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 3:45 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting.

At the Mall at Prince George’s, about 8 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting at a store.
