The Hyattsville City Police Department is warning residents to stay alert on the trails near the West Hyattsville Metro Station, where police have responded to three calls for rape, sexual assault and attempted assault since late January.
Police believe the assailant to be a Hispanic man in his 20s, described as standing between 5'5" and 5'7" and weighing about 150 pounds.
Police advise that residents walk in groups and use "extreme caution" in the area.
If you see something suspicious, the Hyattsville City Police Department encourages you to call them immediately at 301-985-5050. For emergencies, dial 911.
More details will be released this morning. Stay tuned to Hyattsville Patch for updates as more is learned.
