City Gets $3K Grant for Night Out Against Crime

Last minute grant to help fund community-police event this Tuesday.

The Hyattsville City Council is set to approve a last-minute grant from the Target store at the Mall at Prince George's to help fund Hyattsville's 2012 Night Out Against Crime event at Magruder Park on Tuesday night.

On July 19, the city received an email from Target saying that it had been approved for a $3,000 grant from the retail chain to help fund the event. The city council will consider a measure to approve, appropriate and authorize expending the funds from Target at tonight's meeting in the Hyattsville Municipal Building on Gallatin Street. The council meeting begins at 8 p.m.

Hyattsville's Night Out Against Crime will be held the next evening at Magruder Park from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
