Doc Drop: Council Agendas - March 5, 2012

The Hyattsville City Council will get its first look at new redistricting plans tonight.

The Hyattsville City Council will hear two presentations tonight, the other on the city's facility assessment study. 

As part of the consent package (a group of motions which are all voted on at once) the City Council will also vote to hold a public hearing on the property tax rate for FY 2013, a public hearing on the proposed FY 2013 operating and capital budget, and will vote to approve a contract for preliminary technical work for bike and pedestrian improvements in the city. 

Under action items, the City Council will consider:

  • A motion to create a human resources department. This is part of the administrative house keeping still going on as the
  • A motion to send a letter of support for Maryland Senate Bill 753 which allows cities to take additional measures to address blighted properties. 

The City Council will also discuss a number of topics, including the facilities assessment study, the city's procurement policy, management of council-approved projects and initiatives, and the municipal code of ethics which must be approved by the state ethics commission. 

The meeting will be broadcast live on Hyattsville Community Television, channel 71 on Comcast and channel 12 on Verizon.
