1. Tomorrow is the Don’t forget to call City Hall and make your reservations. The even is free and there’s a pancake breakfast to kick the whole event off.

2. There’s a City Council meeting on Monday evening. The agenda will be available on the city’s website by 5 p.m. today.

3. Have you met Hyattsville’s City Clerk Doug Barber? He serves the City Council and manages city records, along with a boatload of other responsibilities. You can call him at 301-985-5009 or email him at dbarber@hyattsville.org.

4. Ever wonder who your neighbors are? The 2000 U.S. census information says Hyattsville has 14,733 residents. The projected 2009 population was 15,604.

I think the data in #4 is out of date. The most recent census numbers have our population at around 17,500 and the demographic information is also quite different from the 2000 numbers posted on the City website.

Thanks Shani! The data from the census was recently provided to me and it seemed odd b/c when I moved here in 2006 the # was 17,000 ish. Let me check into how that # came about. Also, who do you think I should contact about the demos on the website? Thanks! Sarah

I would take down this link until you have the up to date data from the 2010 available. Many changes!
