Gateway Arts District Launches Revamped Site

New site includes directories for businesses, artists and studios along Route 1 corridor.

Are you an artist looking for a studio to lease along the Route 1 corridor? Then you might want to check out the Gateway Arts District's updated website, MyGatewayArts.org.

The site now boasts a small directory for artists, businesses and studios along the Route 1 corridor between Mount Rainier and Hyattsville's northern border with Riverdale Park. Don't see your name or business on the directory? You can add it here.

The overhaul of the website has been ongoing for some time now. , organizers behind the website put out an open call for artists, designers and other businesses in the Gateway Arts District to submit their information to the site for the directories. The updated site also features expanded informational sections geared towards residents, tourists, artists and businesses.

The operations of the site are overseen by the Hyattsville Community Development Corporation and the Gateway Arts District's Management Team.

There are still a few kinks to be worked out of the system. For instance, a link inviting readers to view the latest newsletter redirects to the homepage. The main newsletter sign up page appeared to lack a button by which I could submit my information. However, there is a workaround: if you click the link to open up the newsletter submission page in a new window, you are able to bypass it, but you will be asked if you would like to provide a wide range of optional user information, such as your latitude and longitude. Luckily, only your email address and method of delivery seem to be required fields.
