Hyattsville Council to Review Department Performance

Mid-fiscal-year quarterly reviews slated for special session of Hyattsville City Council.

Tonight, the Hyattsville City Council will be getting its mid-fiscal-year update on the work of the city government.

As you may remember, city agencies are tracking more than 150 performance measures grouped under five overall city goals. As part of last year's budget process, the city council agreed to have the city department's review their performance measures quarterly. This past September saw the first quarterly report released. (Hyattsville Patch regretfully did not review those numbers. Where does the time go?)

"We have found that government entities who do this type of measurement are also in a continual improvement process, and while we have tried to make the measurements relevant, we may need to make adjustments for future years," reads a memo accompanying a motion from earlier this year sponsored by Mayor Marc Tartaro to adopt the slate of performance measures.
