Hyattsville Street, Park Repair Projects Begin

Work on two infrastructure projects set to begin over the next week.

The city of Hyattsville is starting work on two infrastructure projects over the next few days.

First, repairs to the street surface on the 3100 block of Rosemary Lane are set to begin today, Jan. 10, weather permitting. Workers will be milling and patching potholes at selected locations on that block, according to an announcement posted to the city's website.

Then, next week, contractors will be working at King Park on Gallatin Street next week to replace an aging retaining wall.

In November, the Hyattsville City Council approved an $18,500 contract wth NZI Construction to demolish the existing wooden retaining wall at the rear of the park and replace it with a new concrete one.

The work will begin on Monday, Jan. 14.

It looks like they are also repairing the manholes in the 41st Ave, Kennedy and Long Fellow intersections.

Yeah, I saw that earlier, but I think that's not a city repair, but rather utilities. Unfortunately, they don't seem too concerned to let us know in advance when they are working on our streets.

Michael Theis (Editor) June 18, 2013 at 04:04 pm
Yeah. It seems as if some old stories, particularly ones recently posted, did not migrate over toRead More the new site, yet. Our help desk is working on this problem, and we hope to have a resolution before long.
