Hyattsville Selects Voting Machine Supplier

The voting machines to be used in the March 7 elections will be able to translate Spanish.

The Hyattsville City Council unanimously approved a motion on Tuesday night which selected ELECTEC, Inc. to be used as the city’s election machine vendor for the upcoming municipal election set for Tuesday, May 7, 2013.

Originally recommendation by the Board of Supervisors of Elections, the approval allows the City Administrator to execute the contract.

The machines have been used in the May 3, 2011 Biennial Elections as well as the May 4, 2009 elections.
