A new set of signs for the are on the way after the Hyattsville City Council approved a plan by Prince George's County Council member Will Campos on Monday .
Under the plan, Campos will fund the $5,000 project but the city of Hyattsville would handle the design and installation of the signs.
The city does not manage or maintain the dog park, but a memo from City Treasurer and Acting City Administrator Elaine Stookey said that the park has become a key feature for many area dog owners.
Stookey said that it is unlikely that the signs will cost the full $5,000. Any money left over will be able to be used by the city of Hyattsville for other projects.
The city council unanimously approved the measure at its Monday meeting at the Hyattsville Municipal Building.
