Grant Money Available to Nutritrion, Fitness Programs for Hyattsville Residents

The county's health department released a Request for Application encouraging organizations to receive funding for nutrition and fitness programs.

Prince George's County wants to promote healthy and active lifstyles in Hyattsville and other Prince George's County communities and they are hoping some grant money will help the community get involved.

The county's health department released a Request for Application (RFA) to encourage local organizations to support the county's goal and develop new nutrition and fitness programs or enhance a program they already host for residents.

The organizations can be nonprofit, faith-based or community-based groups.

“These grants will assist organizations in their efforts to provide Prince George’s County health related resources and improve the County’s health outcomes,” said county health officer Pamela B. Creekmur. “We expect a positive and measurable impact on approximately 362,000 county residents in several targeted areas that are most in need of these resources.”

The program should help residents in Hyattsville in the following zip codes: 20781, 20782, 20783 and 20785
