's choir has been accepted as a performer in a South African music tour in 2013.
Leona Lowery, the school's choral director, sent out a note Thursday with the news.
The choir will perform in five concerts in Pretoria, Soweto and Cape Town as well as some other unnamed venues during the summer Ihlombe South African Tour, according to Lowery. The choir will consist of 100 students and alumni.
In order to go on tour, the choir needs to raise $500,000 to send at least 80 students and alumni on the trip.
The choir's parent organization has already obtained non-profit status will be working with the leaders of tour and other organizations to help raise funds.
