Northwestern High Students Taking Plunge for Special Olympics

In the vein of Hyattsville efforts, students from are planning a team to participate in the Cool School Challenge for Special Olympics.

“It is the student version of the Polar Bear Plunge,” said Cpl. Michael Rudinski, of the Hyattsville police. Rudinski is also the school resource officer at Northwestern. “We are working to get 40 students to participate.”

As of Thursday evening, the team had raised $825. The event is planned for Jan. 27 or 28 at Sandy Point State Park.
