Ride to Cheverly (Memorial for Natasha Pettigrew)

This week's Saturday 10am shop ride from Proteus bike shop in north College Park will go to Cheverly Maryland to meet up with the Ride for Natasha.  

We’d leave Proteus at 10am, stop for snacks at Shortcake bakery (if you want), and then continue down the trails to Bladensburg marina. From there, it’s through a couple neighborhoods, under the Parkway (there’s a sidewalk if traffic is heavy), and through Cheverly (which is very nice but it has some substantial hills). We’d get lunch at the church, and then (optionally) do their 13 mile cruise ride to the memorial.  Here is the link to the memorial ride route from the church: http://goo.gl/maps/zho73   Most of us will probably head straight back to Proteus from the church after lunch.  We can work who could lead the ride back to Proteus for folks who do want to do the 1pm memorial ride.  I’ll probably get back to the shop about 2pm.  

This ride will take a pretty slow pace on quiet trails and neighborhood streets, and would be suitable for most riders.  There are a couple hills in Cheverly.
