Head Out to the Ball Game and Help Preserve the Watershed

It's Anacostia Watershed Society Day Friday at the Bowie Baysox game.

Buy some peanuts and crackerjacks and support a local non-profit working to provide a clean and healthy environment.

If you're looking for a reason to go outdoors and enjoy the beautiful weather this week, head over to Bowie Baysox game Friday at Prince George's Stadium.

Tickets will be on sale online or at the stadium for $14 and a portion of the proceeds will directly go to the Anacostia Watershed Society, a non-profit dedicated to restoring the Anacostia River and it's tributaries. .

In addition to helping the AWS, the Baysox will be hosting Ghostbusters Night. Members of the Baltimore Ghostbusters will investigate paranormal phenomena throughout the game and will be available to pose for pictures with fans, while clips from the movie will play on the video board. There will also be on-field promotions based on the Ghostbusters movies and post-game fireworks.

The Baysox will face-off against Akron Aeros at 7:05 p.m.

There is no limit to the number of tickets you can purchase.

It'll be 73 degrees with a slight chance of rain showers in the evening, so bring a raincoat just in case. Hyattsville Patch editor Sarah Nemeth has been at the Baysox stadium when tornado alarms went off and warns that you're not going to want to be uncovered during a downpour there.
