Prince George's Pride Youth Lacrosse and the DeMatha Catholic High School lacrosse team have partnered to create a new summer lacrosse camp at the synthetic turf Heurich Field in Hyattsville.
The camp, dubbed Elevated Lacrosse Camp, runs from July 9 through July 11. Sessions are held in the evening from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The camp is open to boys 15 and under. All skill levels are welcome to attend.
The camp will be led by Sean Calabrese and Dan Deckelbaum. Calabrese was a two-year starting midfielder at the University of Delaware before transfering to Stevenson University, where he was an All-American in 2011. He's made trips to both the Division I and Division III lacrosse final four.
Deckelbaum plays on the NLL's Philadelphia Wings and the MLL's Hamilton Nationals. He was a four year starting midfielder at the University of Delaware, and a 2007 All-American.
The camp will feature guest coaches like Gavin Buckley, DeMatha's goalie coach, and Stevenson University senior Attackman Jimmy Dailey, a three-time All-American and 2011 Division 3 Lacrosse Player of the Year, as well as other local high-school lacrosse coaches.
The camp costs $185 per player, but there's a $35 discount if you register by May 15.
