Viewfinder: DeMatha Rally Falls Short Against Gonzaga

Down nearly 20 points in the fourth quarter, DeMatha drops a close game against Gonzaga 76-74.

Would you expect any less from one of the most storied rivalries in Washington, D.C. high school sports history?

Down by as much as 18 points in the fourth quarter, DeMatha poured on a frenzied rally to tie the game in the closing seconds of last night's game against conference rival Gonzaga, but were never able to take the lead. Gonzaga put the final nail in the coffin on two free throws from Jordan Abdur-Ra'oof to make the final score 76-74.

DeMatha entered the game ranked number three nationally by USA Today, Gonzaga was ranked number nine. How those rankings will be specifically affected by last night's action remains to be seen.
