Storms Remain in Independence Day Forecast
Chances are low, but rain could visit the region on the Fourth of July.
Alt, thunderstorms remain in the regional forecast through at least the Fourth of July.
According to the National Weather Service, today will bring mostly sunny skies, high temperatures in the low 90s, and a 30 percent chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Heading into the evening, chances of showers and thunderstorms will increase to 40 percent, but rainfalls are expected to be minimal.
Daniel Porter, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said that those outside over the next few days should keep an eye on the sky and an ear tuned to the weather forecasts. Conditions could change rapidly.

"Any storm, especially at this time of the year, has the potential to produce severe weather," Porter told Patch.
On July 4, Independence Day, revelers will face humid conditions, mostly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 90s. Forecasts call for a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms across Prince George's County.
