Ageless Exercise Class Keeps Hyattsville Seniors Fit

New class offers low-intensity workout for the city's elderly residents.

This past Friday, about a dozen Hyattsville area seniors gathered in the Magruder Park recreation building for the first in a new series of classes designed to get the over-65 crowd exercising.  Called "Ageless Grace", the seated exercise program offers a low-intensity workout geared towards those who might, with age, have more fragile frames.  The program is currently sold out, but city officials are looking to add more sessions as soon as possible.  Over the past few years, the city of Hyattsville has begun allocating more resources to serve the city's growing elderly population.  Currently, nearly 1,300 people over the age of 65 live in the city of Hyattsville, according to data from the United States Census Bureau.
