Pr. George's Sheriff's Deputies Catch Thanksgiving Carjacker Suspects

Father in the car with young daughter was approached by male suspects with a gun, according to the Sheriff's Office.

  Prince George's Sheriff's Deputies arrested two male suspects who allegedly robbed and carjacked a man and his young daughter at gunpoint on Thanksgiving. The Sheriff's office alleges Francis Holmes and James Gross approached the man as he was parked in the 3200 block of Taylor Street in Mt. Rainer. One of the suspects pointed a silver handgun at the victim when he got out of the car and took his wallet, cell phone and vehicle keys, according to the Sheriff's Office. The victim was able to remove his daughter before the suspects fled the scene in his car. Detectives apprehended Holmes and Gross at the 2900 block of Bunker Hill Rd., according to the Sheriff's Office. Holmes and Gross were charged with armed carjacking, first- and second-…

VIDEO: Suspects Sought in Liquor Store Robberies

Police believe the same pair has held up stores in East Riverdale, Suitland, and Landover in the past month.

Prince George's County police have released a video from last week's stickup at East Pines Liquor Store in East Riverdale—one in an apparent string of local robberies. The incident occurred on Sept. 25 at around 7:20 a.m. As seen in the video, two suspects allegedly entered the store and pulled a gun on the employees. After restraining them, police said the pair stole cash from the register and fled the scene. Similar robberies occurred on Sept. 22 at Base Liquors in Suitland and on Sept. 4 at David's Liquors in Landover. In one instance, a suspected getaway vehicle was spotted. CK One and Done: PG Police Sniff Out Perfume Theft Ring For two District of Columbia women, their scented trail of theft has finally been sniffed out by the Prince George's County Police Department (PGPD), with groundwork laid by the Glenarden Police Department. The PGPD arrested 19-year old Darquesha Shelby Wilkinson and 23-year old Latasha Renee Mungo for their involvement in an organized theft ring where thousands of dollars worth of stolen assorted perfumes were recovered, according to police. Loss prevention officers at JC Penney spotted Wilkinson and Mungo stealing assorted perfumes on on May 8, in the store on the 9000 block of McHugh Drive in Glenarden, according to police. They left the store, however, without being detained. …

PGPD jackpot sting: More than 23 pounds of marijuana, $4,000 in cash and ammunition seized The Prince George’s County Police Department’s (PGPD) Special Enforcement  and Special Operations divisions made a substantial drug seizure on the morning of May 4 in Suitland, MD. Police conducted a search warrant at an apartment in the 3500 block of Parkway Terrace Drive. Police report a recovery of more than 23 pounds of marijuana, more than $4,000 in cash and ammunition. The arrest and seizure occurred during the county's Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative, in which Suitland is one of six targeted neighborhoods. The lone suspect is identified as known gang member Leon Flythe, 28, of the 3500 block of Parkway Terrace Drive, according to police…

Adelphi Man Tells Police Burglars Stole His Weed

Three masked men stole marijuana, a car and other property from an Adelphi man, according to police.

An Adelphi man called 911 at 1 p.m. Monday, saying that he woke up to find an armed man entering his room asking for his money and drugs, according to a Prince George's Police 911 recording. "He took my weed and took my rent money," the victim is recorded telling police. Three masked men entered an unlocked home at 8311 Curry Place, according to Officer Iris Borrero with the Prince George's Police. Two men were inside the home, Borrero said. One of them reported that in addition to taking his marijuana they took around $500 to $600. The suspects also demanded the victim's keys and took his 2003 silver Honda, a laptop, and some cell phones, according to police. The victim's license plate is MD 1AA9783, Borrero said.
