Hyattsville Police Arrest Lanham Man After Finding $527K of Drugs at His Business

Dean Roy Thomas is being held without bond after Hyattsville police found about 58 pounds of marijuana on Nov. 2 at his business.

Hyattsville Police last week arrested and charged a Lanham man after they recovered about $527,000 worth of marijuana and three loaded handguns at the Melrose Industrial Park on Rhode Island Avenue. Dean Roy Thomas is being held without bond after police found about 58 pound of marijuana on Nov. 2 at his business. Patch was on scene and previously reported that city police and a Metro Transit Police K9 unit were at Crittenden Street and Rhode Island Avenue and broke down a door at one of the buildings there. A press release issued Nov. 8 states that at 7:17 p.m. officers responded to the 4800 block of Rhode Island Avenue for a report of assault. Hyattsville Police Blotter: Oct. 9-15

An arrest, shots fired from a gold Firebird and theft of copper pipes from a vacant house.

Oct. 9 At the 5300 block of 41st Place, sometime between 1:15 and 1:30 a.m., someone stole two bicycles from the front porch of a residence. At the 4100 block of Quintana Street, sometime during the night, someone stole several bags of mulch and peat moss from a yard. At the 4800 block of Rhode Island Avenue, sometime between 1 and 2 p.m., someone stole a 1999 Cadillac Escalade that had been parked at an auto repair facility. Police Make Arrest In UTC Stabbing

County police have arrested a Washington, D.C. man in the homicide case of Leonard Raynod Smith-Matthews.

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested Derrell Emmanuel Mason, 17, of the 3600 block of 13th Street N.W. in Washington, D.C. in connection with the June 30 homicide of Leonard R. Smith-Matthews at University Town Center. Through their investigation, detectives identified Derrell Mason as a suspect in this case and got a warrant for his arrest. Mason was arrested on Monday at his home on a warrant charging first-degree murder.  He is being held in the District and is awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County. Sept. 26 THEFT at the Mall at Prince George's, about 4:30 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.
