Late comeback not enough for Stags, fall to Calvert Hall 4-3 during annual game honoring DeMatha grad and former police officer who died in line of duty.
The DeMatha Catholic High School varsity hockey team mounted a furious comback late in the third period against Calvert Hall, but could not overcome an early deficit, losing to the Towson-based school 4-3 in the annual "Tommy" game, which honors the memory of former DeMatha hockey player Thomas Jensen. Jensen went on to serve with the Prince George's County Police Department before he died from injuries sustained while on duty. Calvert Hall got on the boards first, with two first-period goals from forward Ryan Dieter, the first assited by forward Matthew Curtin, the second unassisted.
