Federal Worker Furloughs Could Begin April 21
Defense Department would see the largest number of furloughs.
Furloughs, one of the most feared effects of sequestration, could start as early as April 21 at the U.S. Department of Defense. Recent machinations in the Senate to keep the federal government functioning beyond the impending March 27 expiration of stopgap funding are likely to leave the sequestration cuts in place, prompting the potential furlough of thousands of federal workers, The Washington Post reported.
